I feel terrible for not updating this for a couple of weeks now. There are just so many things going on that I always find myself too tired and over sleeping whenever I have the chance to. But of course I'm very grateful for everything that has happened and been happening. God's timing is always perfect:)
December will always be the most awaited month of the year because everyone tries to make time to see each other. It's the perfect time to rekindle and reconnect with good old friends you've barely seen throughout the year. Christmas lights and decors are everywhere, shopping malls are usually jam packed as people do their Christmas shopping and people really try to make time to gather and celebrate. It really is the most festive season:)
Here's a recap of how my December is so far. First on the list is Abra's birthday concert bash held at Eastwood last Dec 3, 2012. Being a person from the south, I barely go to Eastwood. I think this is just the 2nd time I've been here but I did enjoy what I saw! How I wish Eastwood was nearer our place:) I was really surprised upon seeing Abra's fans fill the place up and scream their lungs out. I remember the days when they (LDP - Abra, R-jay, Alex) would just perform in class / school and do their rap thing. They've really gone a long way:) Here's a link to their famous "Gayuma" music video.
While waiting :)
I wasn't able to take a photo anymore of Abra and the gang. But here's a snapshot before leaving:) Always nice seeing Augustinians!
Up next is Christkindlmarket, an event organized by one of our friends. It's a bazaar on ice (it was literally on the skating rink) catering to European goodies. I enjoyed how cold it was and how they decorated the place, making it very Christmas-y. I was impressed with how the event was conceptualized:)
Decided to have a late dinner and drink at Gerry's Grill after. No photos of that, but here's a shot of the "Thursdate" group;)
It's funny how my mom comes up with surprises which are really unexpected. I knew my dad was coming home for Christmas, but I had no idea when exactly. One Friday evening, my mom told us we would just have a quick dinner elsewhere then go grocery shopping (nothing unusual) afterwards. Just before leaving the house, I teased my youngest brother on how over dressed he was. When he was about to change clothes, my mom suddenly blurted out that it was okay since we were headed to the airport and we will be having dinner after. Such a good surprise for the family! I'm really looking forward to this year's Christmas since I wasn't able to enjoy my last Christmas as much due to work. Now, I know we will be having a Merry Merry Christmas:)
That same Saturday, my dad had a Christmas party / ceremony with his mason brothers. I then asked them if we could drop by Ayala Triangle for the Lights and Sounds show, which they enjoyed:) Until this very day, I'm still fascinated seeing Christmas lights.
Bazaar shopping has become a Christmas tradition for me and probably for many people as well. I couldn't just find the perfect time to scout for gifts, knowing all shopping places are filled with people specially during weekends. Although the big number of people is part of the Christmas shopping euphoria, I'd rather shop at places with fewer people. One Friday though, Leo wanted to badly visit Divisoria, Manila's shopping district with the cheapest prices where literally everything can be found. I like the thought of shopping but was initially hesitant to go there since I know the place would be crawling with lots and lots of people. Eventually, I gave in (haha) and pushed through with the plan. We left really early to avoid the massive crowd of shoppers.
I then realized it has been years since I last went to Binondo, the China Town of Manila. We often went here when I was younger because dad bought truck parts here and my parents are very fond of authentic Chinese cuisine. It's still the same chaotic Binondo from how I remembered it years back. A huge addition to the town though was the mall called "Lucky China Town," which is now situated just across the Divisoria Malls. It was an adventure going through rows and rows of shops. It was very overwhelming seeing a lot of very cheap products. Quality isn't as good of course, but it's all a matter of patiently choosing which ones are worth buying. I totally gave up on shopping! -now that's a first. :)) I got exhausted but I enjoyed the experience:)
Just a few days ago, we also went to Resorts World. I accompanied Leo because he had to do some errands for his company as they were trying to close a deal for a local tour. These jeeps were just too colorful and nicely painted:) We just went around, observed people playing and played a little since I was such an amateur. I can't understand why so many people are addicted with casinos though. Probably in time, I will. haha:) That's it for now:)
