Philippine Fashion Week

The Philippine Fashion Week is an event held annually in Manila, usually at the SMX Convention Center where prominent local designers showcase their collections. I have been invited to this event a couple of times already by my friends, and I decided to finally join them this Summer of 2012. So yes, it's my first ever PFW.

I love fashion! I admire fashion bloggers & am amazed as to how they mix and match clothes and create that wow look which will make you stare a bit! You'd have to admit, some not so good looking people can pull their looks off because of their styling prowess and their taste in fashion. I guess my sense of fashion is simple & comfortable, for now. I will have my closet upgraded & overhauled once I get to earn more!

A girl can never have too many clothes, shoes, nor bags.

My PFW started of with meeting up Celeste & Pau at the Mall of Asia. Did some catching up at Subway, then off we were to SMX to meet up with Waves, Koalhen & Biboy. 1st show was a group of designers for the Men's Collection. The seats we got though weren't as good, since we were just "chance goers" (aka no online booking).
Ze Runway!
We originally planned to watch only the show at 9:30 PM, where Celeste's cousin, Anton Patdu is among the head MUAs for 2 huge designers. But since we were already within the vicinity, we decided to have a sneak peak at the Men's Collection as well. Meanwhile, outside the convention hall...
Picture Above: Us with the Gang. Haha! They're models:) and because of the shameless self I have in me, I asked them if we could have a photo with them. :)

Actually, I think the real fashion show started OUTSIDE! It was really fun (or funny. haha) & amusing watching people dressed up in high fashion "clothes," or should I say some looked like they were even wearing "costumes." haha! It was too entertaining.

Kidding aside, thank you, Anton Patdu for the 'passes!' Albert Andrada's & Ezra Santos' had the best collections that evening. The gowns were lovely, the models were great, the make up was impossible, and the presentation or the show itself was very well conceptualized. I learned that even the music you play and the way the fashion show is directed, play an important role in captivating your audience & making an impact. Some of the collections were not as appealing due to the lack of conceptualizing. Truly, Andrada's & Santos' were flawless! Congratulations to Anton, who headed the Make Up Team for both designers.

I enjoyed the show & I'd love to watch next year's shows:) Must be wild working in the fashion industry! I can't seem to imagine how do they make such lovely and unique designs.

After the show, of course, taking pictures is a must! Especially if the place is crawling with hot and gorgeous models! The picture above was taken with Ms. Tessa Prieto-Valdez, who wore something acceptable & decent as compared to some of the PFW goers. Seriously.

Note to the person above: STOP STARING! (I'm melting.) haha!

We then decided to head to Blue Wave to grab a bite. We went to this Wings Place, because we wanted to try their wings, but it wasn't meant to be - they ran out of wings! So disappointing :( Nonetheless, we enjoyed the wonderful evening watching gorgeous people strut well designed clothes. Until the next collection!:)
